February 6th - 29th
Opening reception: Friday February 8th, 6-8PM

“Toadsgoboad is a procurementist artist. Toadsgoboad is Lance Ash”. Lance Ash is a local painter who goes by the name of Toadsgobaod. The show contains 32 acrylic on canvas paintings of mainly figurative based illustrative art. The each of the paintings depicts a grouping of figures and symbolic objects through which story narratives are created. The figures are painted in an almost illustrative abstract manner where you are forced to look at the exaggerated shape and expressions of them to determine their mood. The group of works are truly cohesive and united in their repetition of forms, colors, and gestures.

Lyndon House Refuse Show

March 1st - 9th
Opening Reception: Friday March 7th, 6-8pm

The name “Salon de Refuse” means “exhibition of rejects” in French. The term originates from 1863 when a group of artists were rejected from the prestigious “Paris Salon”. When the artist were rejected they created their own “salon” for the public to view and judge accordingly.
We have given the artist here in Athens the same opportunity. Every year the Lyndon House holds a spring juried show; this year almost 700 pieces were entered into the show and the Lyndon House can only hold about 150 pieces. The Lyndon House sponsors a show allowing the artists to still show their work. The show usually shows a wide range of ability, styles, and mediums.
